Living in New York City, my environment has continuously inspired me. I am consumed by the everyday fashions, styles, and endless fleeting moments of city life. I take the experiences that encompass my life and use them as insight into the creation of fashion editorials. Through the conscious mixing of these worlds of mine, I reflect on my life here in New York.

Metamorphosis
Inspired by my prose and body, my work mainly consists of self-portraiture. My work encompasses fragility, almost as if made of porcelain. I obscure my emotions behind material, art processes, and my own writing. The opaque world in my art detaches the viewer and allows the experience of a dormat poetic expression.

Pink Elephant
The series, "Pink Elephant", is a series based around my father. My father has been in Afghanistan since Spring 2009, and with very minimal, short term visits home. His presence is physically absent, but every day his love and support is with me and that's something I could never show him how grateful I am. So this time dad, grab a cold one, this one's for you.

Substance
My current series titled "Substance" consists of portraits of attractive young men each styled with a material substance on their skin. The substances act as a mask that conceals their true identity. The beautiful styling is temporarily distracting, but upon deeper observation an unsettling quality surfaces that represents the subjects' true selves.

Protein Paradise
The inspiration for this series of work came from a 1950's meat campaign. The juxtaposition between the raw meat and the delicate flowers are being tested. The photos are showing something that isn't normally considered appealing and portraying them in a pleasing and appetizing manner.

Not Common People
Sometimes we come into a group of people that really shape our lives. My project is about the people I have come to know over the past year through the artist collective called Potion. This group has become my best friends. They have let me grow into the photographer I am and I thank them everyday.

The painting is Alive. The Artist is Dead
My work is a series of self-portraits, all of which are inspired by famous works of art. The gallery image I am presenting is adapted from a self-portrait by Austrian Expressionist Egon Shiele. All of the images in my series have been inspired by works of art that give off a feeling of tension, angst and discomfort.

Single Men
For this series of portraits, I meet men over the internet through various "hook-up" websites. I am taking the men out of a fantasy world into a more lonely reality. In a culture where sex is disposable, I'm seeking to make a fleeting connection more permanent.

Retail Landscape
The mall has been part of the American landscape for the past 50 years. It has been a quintessential institution that for better or worse has become a staple in our culture. Over the past year I have become increasingly interested in these structures and I have been documenting the spaces themselves and their surroundings.

Icons of Ritual
Icons of Ritual is an ongoing series dealing with the rituals of technology and religion. Some images depicted are extremes of each case; a forecast of future technological rituals while some/others are grand displays of devotion. These images all stem from fear of the future, the afterlife and the unknown. Each are set-up and non documentary.

Pressed Flowers
New developments in the body and temptations to express one's self in unfamiliar ways make the transition from childhood into adulthood a lonely and confusing time for most. This idea, along with the loss of innocence that we all encounter, is what is explored in this series of stylized portraits, depicting young girls reating to their first realization of crossing over into womanhood.

If We're Being Honest/Yes Let's be Honest
This project is a visual diary, and seeks to understand what a person leaves behind in places and people they encounter, and the impact we leave on our physical space. The photographs act as relics to moments that are often overlooked, but whose significance can only be revealed after they happened. The images were taken in Massachusetts, New York City and Europe over the span of seven months.

Stiles Drive
"Stiles Drive" is a character study of my father, who has always been a source of inspiration for me. Throughout the course of the project, I've managed to discover aspects of him and his personality that were previously unseen to me, regardless of him being my oldest & dearest friend. As the project progresses and evolves, I hope to continue to learn from and further get to know my father.

Emotions
Emotions is my abstraction of reality, created by light, shadow and color. It reflects the differences in seasonal colors, time of day and its effect on an image's overall form. Like other modernist work, "Emotions" has become something completely new from the world's original offerings.

No One In This Family Has Ever Died Of Love
Immigrating from Poland in my teens, I left a whole other life behind me, and with that any physical photos of these times. I am aspired to recreate memories of my past, not trying to create the typical family album, but more the memories that stand out in my mind, ones that might help me understand my family struggles during this period of time.

Elements
The beauty of nature is found in the color palettes that change with the season, the relfections of water, and in the shadow patterns that form from the rays of the sun. Composed around the human figure with elements of the natural world and with the abstraction of different in camera effects, these images from the series entitled, "Elements," aim to subtly merge reality and nature with abstraction. As a whole, the body of work represents the relationship of nature to human emotions, and the spiritual and physical cycles in which we live.

All America City
My hometown of Saranac Lake is a rural community of about 5,000 people in the Adrondack Park region of upstate New York, and it was awarded the title of "All America City" by the National Civic League in 1998. Most people view rural communities and its residents as unworldly or ignorant for never leaving the town but many people in the area aren't given any other option. Most continue to live very successful happy live, but I want to investigate the idea of being trapped in a rural community, and what it means to be considered "All American" in today's society.

My senior project is a collection of images taken from Amtrak trains. The trip consisted of traveling the entire country in a loop. The trip started in New York's Penn Station, and ended ten days later back in New York. The trip was broken into 5 segments; each segment shows very different views (Both in the landscape and the objects that inhabit these landscapes) on what America looks like. The final presentation on the work will be a grouping of small 5x7 inch prints that show a cross section of the project, with all of the work being shown in a book presented beneath the hanging pieces.

Hope Olivia
With this project I am exploring the complex relationships in my family dynamic. Having a half sister 18 years my younger, brings with it interesting dynamics, I not only feel like her sister, but many times I feel like, and take on more of a motherly role. I began photographing my sister a few years ago, because being a photographer, the idea of having a visual documentation of her life intrigued me. While shooting this project though, it began to take on another function, and started to show sides to her rarely seen by the outside world.
